Every once in a while you stumble upon a true gem while on your travels. Who knew that nestled close to Mackinaw was this amazing little restaurant. We took out responsibility as tourists very seriously when we came here...literally delaying our departure by an hour (or two) just so we could eat at this place. From a first glance, it does not look like anything special, i would even venture to say it looks like your typical bro bar, at first not even thinking that they had anything except for chicken wings... come a few yelp searches later, we noticed that there is food. At the time of our visit, yelp contributions were definitely lacking so we went out on a limb based on what we did see and decided to come check it out. OHBOY! i can now with confidence, say that this place needs to be visited to believe. the food here is piping hot, full of flavor, and large! I had the burger special at that time and my bf had the shrimp tacos, we shared the fried asparagus. everything was perfect and we were sad to leave Mackinaw and not be able to try this place's delicious food again.

We had gator bites with the white fish taco and Greek tacos. Our food was all great! We would go back next time we are in town. The patio would be a great time to throw back some drinks!

Great food. Great fun staff. Long ticket time. The whitefish is great. Just don't be in a hurry.

Had the fish tacos and bean dip. Both were great, and the service was quick and friendly. Nice view of the lake as well.

First time in St. Ignace and must say this place was great. Definitely not a gourmet meal but a great place for a hearty meal. I had the two ton tessy and it did not disappoint. My wife got the the fresh lemon chicken and was very very pleased. My brother-in-law got the whitefish tacos and the half slab ribs(he's a competitive eater) and LOVED them both. Will definitely come back if we ever are in town.

I'll keep it short and sweet me and my wife got the fish taco and the Greek Taco and shared them; they were awesome and our waitress was great. we will definitely be back when we're in town!

Really enjoyed the fish tacos. Fresh white fish and homemade salsa. Beer list has about 12 to choose from and we hit wine Wednesday. Fifty cents off a glass or $2 off a bottle.

The food is the best in St Ignace. Seating is on a deck with vinyl drops when the weather is bad. If it's busy your food is going to take a while so be prepared, but in the meantime they have cheap beer, only cans and the view isn't bad. It's definitely worth checking out and in my opinion much better than the other places in town. Try the ribs!

Rude staff. We sat down... waited 10 mins and no one greeted us. We walked out.. Will not be back.

Wonderful selection and awesome fries. They have some unique sandwiches - hot and cold. Pulled pork with coleslaw on it was very good, the Greek marinated chicken wrap was delicious and the club sandwich was full of flavor but the most raved about was the fish taco that has a unique sauce on it. Can't go wrong here - soft serve sundaes and cones for dessert - Large menu and something for everyone.

I never eat fish tacos, but had heard these were to die for. So I ordered the white fish tacos. They were out of this world! The sauce and onion relish gave it a fresh and unique taste. So good! My husband ordered the Two Ton Tess Burger. He always orders burgers so has had many in all different restaurants. He was very impressed with this one. Double patties, tons of cheese and lots of bacon with a soft egg on top. Lots of other toppings too. It was amazing! The seating is on a tent covered patio and is limited. Even if there are no empty tables, still order and take to go. There is a beautiful marina across the street with picnic tables. The food is THAT good.

Yes and yes! Love the atmosphere- outdoor seating, comfortable, clean, patio feel. I got the Greek taco and it was delicious! The fish tacos got rave reviews from my DH. I felt good that even though the chicken nuggets for the kids were fried, they were real meat- not over processed like fast food chains. Homemade fries- amazing! Everyone was happy and if I ever come this way again, I will absolutely come again. So delicious! You don't want to pass this little place up!

Nothing fancy here, but a true gem as posted by a previous traveler review. Restaurant is basically an outdoor patio with a covered awning and a capacity of 55 patrons. Hostess was very pleasant and friendly and I think she may be one of the owners. You have great view of Marina! Kitchen is visible so you can see one or two cooks, but don't let appearance fool you. Truly enjoyed their creole whitefish dinner that was served on a hot metal plate with minimum garnishing at $16, but absolutely tasty. Don't pass that up! A medium upscale restaurant in Oakbrook IL would probably charge $20 or so for something similar and not taste as good as Gangplank's. My wife enjoyed their cheese melt sandwich--truly unique flavor, probably because of their special cream or something in the sandwich. Two important things, we came in 7 pm and had a 20 minute wait for a table. The order took about 30 minutes to arrive, together with softdrinks. In fact, my wife was placing a take-out of that sandwich, but server said it would be a 20-minute wait in view of other orders with the kitchen. If we were in no hurry, we would have waited. Anyway, despite that shortcoming the wait was worth it!! I'd have to make another 6-hour drive from Illinois, but I will certainly visit this place again.

I wanted very badly to like this place. All other reviews led me to believe so. The good: small local joint, plenty of parking, clean, organized and friendly. The bad: based on going here for ice cream, two of the items I wanted on the menu could not be made. The shipwreck sundae was a flop since the bananas they had were going bad and the second backup option of a turtle sundae failed because no one turned on the hot fudge. Two strikes out of three.

This restaurant has great service, atmosphere and food! The fresh cut fries are delicious and worth the treacherous drive over the bridge.

Pulled pork wasn't very good, but my boyfriend enjoyed his fish tacos. The fries were good too! Seating and parking is a little tricky at times.

Awesome homemade sweet potato fries!! Home cooking at its finest!! My husband and kids love the burgers because the cheese is melted and a little crisp on the sides...yum!!! I had the turkey light and asked them to grill my turkey! It was superb! Homemade ranch dressing too! This place rocks!!! Highly recommend.

Food was great. Lots of different burgers and sandwhiches. The atmosphere was extremely inviting and family friendly. Not to mention the great view of the marina. And friendly staff. Definitely worth a stop in for lunch or dinner.

this place looks pretty cute both inside & out. there are buckets on each table with salt/pepper, ketchup, mustard, napkins, plastic-wrapped silverware and a small plastic game to play while you wait for your order. however, there are no windows or walls so if there isn't a breeze it is quite hot under the yellow & white tent ceiling. the hamburger i ate wasn't very good and the fries (although somewhat tasty) were limp and undercooked. bleah. i was hoping the food would be better! also, the ketchup served here is not heinz, but hunt's.

We go here at least once a week, the price may seem a little more. But it is made up in quality and flavor. And a menu that covers all of ones desires. Fish taco to die for, pull pork and fries the way you like them, and ask for the sauce for the fries. The view alone is with it. This is a must stop when in St Ignace .

Probably one of the more disappointing ice cream experiences I've had. They serve food too and the place was crowded with eaters but the turtle sundae was just so-so. I ordered the Turtle and it had no carmel, crushed peanuts instead of pecans and a pre-fab waffle bowl. When in a tourist town bring on the quality high fat ingredients! I'm on vacation and ready to indulge but this was not the place.

BEST in St Ignace & for miles around! All winter long we looked forward to the Gangplank's summer re-opening: delicious food, FRESH ingredients cooked on the spot ('Not fast food but great homemade food done pretty darn quick'). Original salads, sandwiches, burgers, pitas & tacos (pulled pork; whitefish; grilled turkey club; grilled chicken pita; deep fried whitefish taco, to mention a few); home cut fries, baked potato or homemade chips included (but go for the sweet potato wedges!); daily lunch specials are excellent bargains. Eat at comfy tables under the awning on the deck overlooking the marina, Moran Bay & Mackinac Island or call ahead to pick up at the drive-in window. Ice cream (soft or regular) for desert---too yummy. It's handicapped accessible too. Kids' choices include grilled cheese, chicken nuggets, whitefish fingers & grilled bologna & cheese. Peanut Butter Puppy Poppers for the pooch! NO HOT DOGS---don't know how that got on the listing :-(

Had dinner here last night, I had the California Buffalo sandwich with the sweet potato wedges, hubby had the pulled pork deluxe. He said his was just Ok, kinda bland...mine however was out of this world. Flavorful , perfectly cooked, not too spicy. The wedges were hand cut and cooked just right, crunchy on the outside. YUM.

Went there for dinner and we really enjoyed it. Started with the loaded buffalo fries and the teenager polished then off. Blue cheese, buffalo sauce, and celery on the fries were a tasty combination. My husband had the blue cheese burger which also had some other cheese in it and it was well cooked. I had the lemon garlic chicken with zucchini and baked potato. I do not like zucchini usually- but these were great (the bacon helped with that.) The chicken was tasty, potato good. Also had the guacamole humus and it was super tasty.

This was a great discovery during our vacation, making us wish we were staying in the area longer so we could go back for another meal. Simply decorated indoor/outdoor location across from public marina. Friendly, attentive staff and a reasonably short wait for food. Delicious cucumber watermelon sangria to go with the tasty shrimp tacos. My husband had the whitefish and it was very good too. Not fancy but not generic. Already looking forward to going back someday!

Excellent place to eat on a relaxing vacation. They have a casual patio and friendly staff. The food was awesome - chips and salsa, hand-cut fries, Greek tacos and everything else we ate were all delicious. The only reason for 4 not 5 stars is that the food takes a while to arrive, but it's worth the wait.

Really cute place with very nice service. We waited a long time for food but there was a big party in front of us. Fries and homemade ranch are yummy! Sangria Saturday is yummy too.

This place came highly recommended to us by a 20 something year old local. I was told it would have a great local beer selection and good food. Half of that was right. The beer selection was pretty dismal, but at least the had 2 from Bell's Brewery (2 hearted ale and Oberon). The good itself was food and above average. The main issue I had was there was not really anyone there and it took 45 minutes for an order of 3 burgers and 1chicken tenders. That does not include the 10 minutes it took for our waitress to get to our table. There was literally 1 table of 6 people who were already eating, a table of 4 and a table of 2 who were there when we arrived. I'm not sure what the hold up was. But that was way too long for such a simple order.
